Being a lineman, I know how difficult jobs I have crossed through. Every day is a challenging day for me because my work starts with repairing and installing of high voltage cables that light up your home.
I efficiently handle electrical power-line installation and telecommunication line repair and installation. I know both the tasks are different but they provide me regular work and decent income.
The job is risky as I climb up utility poles and work at great heights. Playing with electricity cables is my day to day job. I find telecommunication less risk. The cable line is not at great heights.
The telecommunication cables are easily managed whereas electrical power-line needs time to time maintenance and repairing of high-voltage electrical wires.As a lineman, I need to prepare myself work ready in every weather and tight spaces. Anytime and any day problems with electricity wires can come. It’s why I have a utility vehicle to make me ready in every situation.
Thus work responsibilities make lineman jobs one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Although, the rate of fatalities and nonfatal injuries in this career is decreased greatly because of the latest advanced tools are using to provide safe work environment to linemen.
There are various lineman jobs apart from electrical and telecommunication. It can be a lineman for aircraft, a lineman for CATV and a lineman for traffic lights and streetlights.The more risky the job is, the better the payment will be. Being a professional lineman, I have done graduation from high school and completed vocational training program which is of 2 years technical training program.
There are numbers of institutions offer both indoor and outdoor lineman training. During my training period, look at the flexibility of timing I worked with apprenticeship to sharpen my skills in this field.
I have also done safety training to secure my life as a lineman. If you want to make career in this field, you should have to complete your training. This is one of the most rewarding career.
